Well its back to diapers since Mini Pink couldn't get the whole potty training thing down. Mini Pinkette thinks it's hilarious that she can do it and her brother can't so that is why she has the giggles. I think Pink has had enough of this baby stage. He said he can't wait until they grow up, but I gently reminded him it only gets much worse when they are teenagers! You better enjoy this stage while you can Pink! And don't worry I'm sure your future Mrs. Pink would love to help out!

Day #116.... September 16, 2009

Pink thinks since his Minis are growing up its time to potty train them. I noticed I have a bit of an inconsistency here since they never really wore diapers in any of my pervious shots... but bare with me here. Mini Pink didn't want to learn how to use the potty. He prefers his diapers. Whereas Mini Pinkette proudly sat on the potty like it was no big deal.


I tried to recreate Pink's bathroom as close as I could when I used it in a few of his other shots such as Sick Pink. But this time I used my little tabletop light studio that I bought. I had my shot just how I wanted it and I was ready to upload it then I realized that I forgot the toilet paper!! How could I leave that out? So I shot it again and then realized that Mini Pink's hand was moved and it gave him a totally different expression. 3rd times a charm! Plus I had already given up... good thing this came out how I wanted it to!!

Oh my gosh!!!! My first picture on Flickr's Explore!!! I am so happy!!


The Minis wouldn't let me put them to bed while Pink was away on his date. They wanted to stay up until he came home to tell them all about the date. So even though Pink was a little mad at me... he went into the nursery and gave the Minis their bottles and told them all about his date. He said that he thinks she is the Pink one! They had a great date and they are going to take it nice and slow because Pink really wants this to work out. He still won't tell me who this mystery woman is though... he's afraid to jinx it. He said we can all meet her soon enough!


This title is inspired by yet another Pink Panther Episode "Rock a Bye Pinky" where a man and his dog staying in the woods keep Pink awake at night with his snoring. It's a good one! Just the title inspired me because obviously it has nothing to do with this picture... haha


After showing my Mom this picture she says she is a little worried about me because it is getting a little weird how I am taking my Pink pictures to "the extreme" Thanks Mom! haha I know I'm weird but this is my creative outlet. I have had so much fun on this project over the last few months! Feel free to think I'm crazy, but setting up and looking at my shots puts a smile on my face every day and I hope i can do the same for other people as well. It is all or nothing with me. Since I have had more time on each shot I have started to put a lot more time and care into them. What's the point of a boring 365 day project?!? This project has helped me immensely. In a way its therapy from my stressful life, giving me a good laugh every day. It has also drastically helped my photography skills and given me the confidence to try and follow my passion. So think what you may about this... I will continue and hopefully my shots will get even crazier and more extreme from here on out!!

Pink has a date tonight with the girl he met on OkCupid!!! He wouldn't let me come because he said I jinxed him last time by acting like a paparazzi. Plus, someone had to stay home and watch the Minis. I assured him I was well qualified to take care of them but of course he had to call and check up on us. He also told us his date was going really well! Mini Pink was clapping and Mini Pinkette was cheering they were so happy to hear that! They would love a Pink Mommy! I told him to be careful and no funny business this time!! His last date ended as a disaster! He wouldn't give us any other details though. He said he was going to keep her a mystery until he knew things were going to work out for sure. Darn! We sure are curious!

Inspired by the title of a Pink Panther episode Pink-A-Boo, Pink played Peak-A-Boo with his Minis. This is a 2 part shot for today! The episode isn't actually about playing Peak-A-Boo... its about a mouse in his house.. but very funny still!


I was looking all over online for free Pink Panther episodes to link to my pictures that inspired me and then I thought... DUH! YouTube!! I added 2 more links to episodes on my pictures. One on Day #13 A Match Made in Pink Heaven where Pink and his date watch his first episode "The Pink Phink" which happens to be one of my favorites!! And also on my Day #24 shot Pink of the Litter where Pink finds Pinkie at Petsmart. The episode is actually about cleaning up garbage, but the title inspired me and it is quite humorous! Pink wanted to track how his Minis were growing. Mini Pink tried to cheat and stand on his tippy toes to try and get a few extra centimeters. Mini Pinkette wasn't to be fooled. Although, when it was her turn she tried to convince Pink to measure from the top of her big bow. Don't worry Minis.... one day you will be just as tall as Daddy Pink. FYI the Minis measure up to just under 3 inches. Without cheating....


Thats a pink ruler unfortunately it looks a little red though with the yellow background. I knew I shouldn't have used yellow but I wanted to use a totally different background. Oh well!


I was thinking about doing a shot for 9/11, but that is all I heard about on the radio and on TV all day so I thought I would give people a laugh for the day instead of remind them of a horrible event in American History. Although, I'm posting this late.... so it really doesn't matter whether I did it or not. But my payers are still with all of those families who have lost loved ones on that horrible day.

Pink is helping me eliminate my debt by helping me cut up my credit cards.... he thinks that by just cutting up they go away. If only that were true! I have racked up quite a bit of credit card debt while in college. Now I am determined to get rid of it!! I made the mistake of accepting a few of the thousands of credit card applications that are mailed to clueless college students. I am very dangerous with money!! After watching the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic I was like alright... it's time!! I don't buy the typical girl things like clothes and accessories like in the movie. I actually spend most of my money on technology and entertainment... wow I sound more like a guy! haha I have a lot to pay off but hopefully soon I'll be debt free! Well at least credit card debt free... I still have a fortune to pay in school loans. Yay for the American way! Live in debt and get what you want! Man I wish I had been better with money! haha

Ok feeling a little uninspired today.... so I had to jump on the bandwagon and do a special shot for 9:09 9/9/09. Check out Slinky and Rururu celebrating as well! They also gave me the idea... sorry for copying guys! Pink made me mark on my calendar to remind myself to take a picture of him at 9:09 on 9/9/09. I wish I had some more time to think about how I was going to do this shot... I only had a few minutes before 9:09! Wow and it's Pink's 109th picture today!! How perfect actually! I wish I would have remembered so I could have actually planned it out! I just realized it was 9/9/09 today at work and tonight I went to go see the movie 9. It was pretty good... I had heard it was Tim Burton's. And since I'm a HUGE fan, I was extremely excited! However, I was a little disappointed when I found out he was 1 of 5 producers so it wasn't entirely HIS. Oh well...

Pink decided to bring out the family album. Of course Mini Pink had to excitedly point himself out... he's such a show off!


Today my mom decided to go through this box of memories she had to look for a postcard my grandpa had sent her as a young girl. Unfortunately we had a flood in our basement not too long ago and almost everything in the box was ruined. She did salvage a few things... but what really hit me was looking at her old photos. Her old boyfriends, her Senior trip to Florida, and all of her other memories. It actually almost brought me to tears seeing my mom as a teenager and the life she had. Photo albums are so great to look back on. I know we should live in the present, but looking back at fond memories of the past is always a great experience. It tore at my heart to see her throw most of it out. But hey, it's really just the past anyway right? I wondered if I would have anything to show my own daughter one day.... my life doesn't seem like a fairy tale like my mom's did with all of her romantic love letters from boyfriends and fun parties. haha Mine would perhaps be pretty boring! Hopefully with this digital age we won't have to worry about our physical pictures being damaged.... just don't let your computer crash!

The Mini Pinks found the paint samples that Pink had brought home from Home Depot not too long ago when he was trying to convince me to paint my room pink. He gave the idea up but when the Mini Pinks found them they got an idea. They picked out their favorite shade of pink and went to work. Pink was so scared about what I would say. I specifically told him that I DID NOT want a pink room! I would love to say that the Minis were only trying to help... but i have a feeling they are just wild little kids. I have a feeling Pink has had enough! I told him not to worry though... the paint will come right off.

As for the paint on Mini Pink... that was totally unintentional.. haha I dropped the paint brush while setting up this shot haha But just like the paint on the wall... it came right off of Mini Pink too thank god! haha

This shot is inspired by Dr. Seuss's "Hop on Pop" in case anyone doesn't remember or has heard of that classic children's story. Since my boyfriend grew up in Mexico he didn't really get it.... haha Pink doesn't look too amused.... This fatherhood thing is really starting to get to him!

I'm pretty happy with how this one came out because it was a pain in the butt to set up! Mini Pinkette didn't want to hang right and I couldn't get Pink to lay down how I pictured it. I am way too critical of my pictures and there are a few things I would change about this, I don't like the way Pink's hand is up. But there was too much to control to notice every little detail until it was too late... but I am way too worn out to go back and try again.

She's here!!! May I introduce to you.... Mini Pinkette!! Everyone had some very creative guesses to who my new character might be! This was probably too obvious (or too over done haha) for anyone to guess! Pink and Mini Pink are really surprised! They are asking each other who is she?!? Where did she come from?! They will be one big happy pink family soon! They just need to get over their confusion!


On a sad note... I think I need to get my camera cleaned!! :-( There are these weird spots on my shots no matter which lens I use so I'm assuming its inside the camera! And there's this weird spec by one of the focusing brackets but luckily it doesn't show up on my shots! I need to clone out these strange spots for the time being.... a few of my older pictures had them too but since I just got Photoshop Elements I will have to fix them!!

Pink got up early this morning to find some worms. He says he wants to go fishing one of these days. As long as he doesn't try to catch one of my Beta fish!!

I wanted to do this shot before my dad ate all of my Oreos.... yes this is an edible mudpie! Oh did I make a mess!!! My original idea for this shot was to have Pink standing up and pulling the worm out but I can't find a way for him to hold things! I tried sticky tack and a string but nothing worked! Pink kept falling in the mud and I needed to wipe it off of him! I need some better ways for pink to hold things! I did buy my new pink character today so maybe she will make an appearance tomorrow!!

We did it!! I am all caught up with Pink and it has been 100 days of Pink! 265 more to go! I hope I can find some more creativity still left in me!! I've been on Pink overload trying to catch him up! All of his friends came to the party! Even his ex-lover. I guess they worked things out and have agreed to be friends, but Pink won't let himself fall in love with her again! Mini Pink was busy trying to eat the frosting on the cake! Pink insisted on putting the candles in the cake so I didn't have the heart to tell him that the 1 is backwards!

Ok this is quite a stretch... I had this idea in my head and maybe I need to work on it a little more! Once I learn more about Photshop I will probably replace this with a different look. haha I was feeling pretty uninspired today because I've been on Pink overload trying to catch up!! I have 1 more day to get everything caught up!! I was looking ahead incorrectly and thought I would be doing my 100th shot on Tues... but actually its tomorrow!! As a friend of mine suggested, I started a blog for my little Pink Panther series. Mini Pink was so excited to see it and he pointed himself out on the screen. Pink here didn't get why Mini Pink was so excited. He just said "What's the big deal?? I've been on Flickr for months!!" Oh don't play so cool Pink... you know you are excited and will show off the blog to the next person you meet!! (Pink likes to show himself off....a lot!!) I am on the other hand, pretty shy about my Pink Panther series.... I have a feeling a lot of people think its really strange! Even my mom has said to me... "Ok Kristin, this is getting a little weird" She was talking about how I am kind of treating Pink like a real person and giving him a personality and a story to go along with his photos. I know the people here on Flickr (well hopefully at least some of them) understand.... but I haven't really told many friends or family about my little blog yet! haha I'm kind of hoping that just random people will see it and enjoy it. If anyone even wants to see it that is! haha 
 
Since I was backposting all of my posts to match the dates of my pictures this may seem a little out of order... but soon everything will be back to normal!  One Pink Panther picutre will be posted a day and it will all make sense... well it may not make sense why I am doing this... but at least timeline wise... haha

Pink is a Winner at the Game of Life 97/365

Pink is a winner!! He is busy counting his money while Mini Pink pushes his car to a payday! Mini Pink insisted that he used the white car like my Escape and he used 2 pink "people" to represent himself and Pink.

Life used to be one of my favorite games as a kid. I would always get excited with which house I would end up with and what career I would pick. Real life is quite a bit scarier! I did choose the long route to finish college though... haha I always hated to take that extra path in the game that kept you from getting to the rest of the game faster. I always wanted to pick the "You had twins card!" A random thought also came to my mind while setting up this shot. I always had the little blue guy drive my car as the pink representation of myself would sit happily in the passenger side. I would always play this game with a friend and she always insisted that her blue "husband" always sat in the passenger seat while she drove. Can you say future feminist? haha

It is also kind of sad how no one really plays board games anymore! All kids play these days are video games and more interactive flashy games! When I have a family I want to bring back family game night and play a real old school board game. However, by the time I have kids old enough to play board games they will probably be REALLY out of style! haha Thank you Barbara for the board game inspiration!

During my lunch break I was trying to find a little park for the Pinks to play at. Mini Pink went straight to play in the sand and begged Pink to let him bury him in the sand! Pink doesn't look too amused....

There have to be at least 10 parks around the Winnetka area... but all of them had kids and parents. I felt a little strange taking pictures of my toys and had a feeling the parents may be a little creeped out! But I found this tiny empty park! Although... there were some landscapers giving me strange looks!! I STILL have sand in my heals while I'm sitting here at work! My Pinks are probably getting sand all inside my camera bag too now!

Pinkie's Story

As a recap, here is Pinkie's Story. Pink was pretty down after his dating disaster and he wanted a pet to cure his loneliness. He went to Petsmart to pick out the perfect pet. He found her! She is pink and everything! Pink isn't very original so he named her Pinkie. On the way home Pink made sure that he was buckled in tight with his new pet. However, when he got home... someone had left the door open and Pinkie got out!! Pink was miserable again! He sat outside the house with the cat bowl and cried. His luck then changed when he spotted her in the grass so he devised a plan to catch her! Cats are very hard to catch when they go outside so Pink knew he had to be smart! He made a trail of cat food and waited at the end for her to come. It worked and he finally had Pinkie back in his arms at last! After quite a stressful day, the two of them relaxed on the couch as they watched Pink's first episode.... yea Pink likes to show off. Pinkie was quite impressed! Or at least she was trying to be nice.... When Mini Pink was introduced to Pinkie he went straight for the tail pulling..... of course! Why do all kids do that?? Poor Pinkie! Pink tried to teach Mini Pink a lesson on how to treat Pinkie... but I don't think it fully sunk in...

The Pinks accompanied me on my sunflower shoot. They picked out the perfect sunflower for me to shoot. Pink was having a hard time climbing and was falling off a bit... but Mini Pink is a natural climber! There's this great sunflower field on the corner of Lake Cook Rd. and Milwaukee Ave. for any of you Chicagoans! I want to go back in the afternoon to try different lighting. Next time... I will not try to hop this little creek and end up with soaking shoes and pants... and I will not try and scoot my butt down this extreme incline and rip a hole in the butt of my favorite jeans... I will be prepared next time! haha I used 3 different lenses on my shoot!!

Here is the sample piece I made to practice my knitting, but when Pink saw it he thought it was a scarf I had planned to make for him.... he doesn't realize that its too hot to wear a scarf now!! I have decided to quit smoking finally and a lady I work with gave me some advice to start knitting to give my hands something to do and transfer my addiction elsewhere. So I thought I would take up knitting but I was thinking I can only make so many scarves for myself... I want to do something better! So she told me about this organization called the Linus Project where you make baby blankets and donate them to children in need. So that is what I will be knitting! Well..... I have kind of neglected Pink... that's why he's looking at me all like why did you abandon me?!?! I've been taking some pictures but haven't had the time to upload them and some days I unfortunately haven't had the time to take any at all. However, the ideas for photos have been still coming to me this entire time, I am not yet out of inspiration! I just started reading the book Julie & Julia and I am so inspired by her 1 year cooking challenge that I decided I MUST finish my 1 year Pink Panther photo challenge. I will be slowly uploading the pictures I have taken and filling in the photoless days. Through Julie's cooking challenge she found herself and her passion which is what I started to feel like the day I bought my camera and discovered this website. I highly recommend this book and I will be seeing the movie on Wednesday.... I heard it was great! Thanks Julie Powell for the inspiration!

Day #75.... August 6, 2009

My car officially has 100K miles!! Well... 100K + 30! Oh no!!! I wanted to take a picture of it at 99,999 and 100,000 and I thought I had another week or so until I reached that point but I must have been in a daze on my way to work because I got in my car to go to lunch and it was at 100,001! I didn't have my camera so I had to wait... so it reads 100,030. Oh well... but Pink is astonished at how much I drive my car. The way things are going I need it to last another 100K... please! My poor car! I was trying to take a picture so you can read the odometer but I wasn't able to do it right... so I took a picture of it alone. That is why Pink is a little blurry for my liking since I was trying to focus on the odometer. Oh well! My lovely 2002 Ford Escape is still kickin'... I hope it can make it another 100K because I can't even think of buying a new car with all the school loan debt I have!!!

Pink Working Hard.... or Hardly Working? 74/365

Pink is at "work" with me here. He is currently checking his latest photos on Flickr and reading Bram Stoker's Dracula on my Kindle!

My second job is at a country club which basically consists of me answering phones, reading my Kindle (yes.. that is a pink case for my Kindle... haha), and surfing Flickr.... when everyone isn't taking advantage of me and making me do ALL of their work, like our new totally clueless Catering Manager! Sounds like a great job huh? Uhhh no!! May I remind you it is a COUNTRY CLUB located in North Shore Chicago aka Rich Snob Central!!! I have to deal with people bitching at me for stuff completely out of my control... I work with the most unhappy, stubborn, old, German lady to ever walk the face of this Earth who constantly bitches about EVERYTHING and puts everyone down because she is ALWAYS right.... and I have to put up with the constant stench of old lady perfume from all of the old rich lady members of the club! Just today... I got bitched at by a lady because our calendar didn't say no a la carte dining but it clearly said Family BBQ Buffet (I don't design the calendars OR decide the schedule)... and I gave a lady a lesson on how to use her iPhone! BUT.... on a brighter note!!! (and I will stop my venting!) I am currently looking for another 2nd job to replace the country club! I am looking to work at a photo studio and really start following my passion! By Christmas (busy photo season) I WILL have a job at a photo studio!! (Trying out some positive manifesting thinking here!!) Wish me luck! :-)

Little side funny note.... my boyfriend (who works with me... yes one of the only good things about this job!) came to visit me as I was setting up this shot and just looked at me like I was CrAzY!! He doesn't really understand my project haha

Pink is Taking Some Time to Stop and Smell the Flowers 73/365

Day #73.... August 4, 2009

..... and today I have done so as well... not literally, but I have taken a look at my life and realized I am truly grateful for how things are. I am exactly where I need to be. I used to be pretty down about not finding a job right after graduation in Corporate America. I did study Engineering and Management after all!! But lately, I think I have found my true calling... which has NOTHING to do with Corporate America!! I think if I did find that high paying job right out of school I would have been comfortable and never tried finding my true passion in life.

My camera has changed my life... and maybe its crazy after spending 5 years and a FORTUNE studying Management and Engineering to switch gears to photography... but something is really pulling me!! I bought my camera about 4 months ago and I haven't been the same since!! The whole month of July I didn't take many pictures (which is why I am playing catch up with Pink here... and I also feel like unfortunately my skills have kind of regressed). The whole month of July I just felt out of place and like something from my life was missing! I kept saying "One day I will try to do something with Photography..." and a lady I work with said... "Why not start today? What have you got to lose??" So that is what I am doing. I may keep my eye open for a "real" job... but what I am really going to concentrate on is finding a job at a photo studio to learn as much as I can about portrait photography and with luck maybe I can even open up my own studio! I know I have A LOT to learn... I feel like most of my pictures are pure luck! But if I can progress as much as I did in 4 months... I can do something great with the rest of my life :-)

My mom just LOVES this idea... all I hear is how are you going to pay off your loans?!?!? But I just have a feeling everything is going to be fine :-) Ok this is turning into more of a diary entry or something..... please ignore my random thoughts! haha

I have changed the dates on my catch up photos to help keep them sorted and in order... but I feel like I need the REAL date on this one as well... to mark the day that I have truly been inspired... August 23, 2009
